Connect an iPhone

To synchronize your iTunes library, Contacts, Calendar appointments, Safari bookmarks, and email account settings with your iPhone, you can connect the iPhone to your Mac. Recent versions of iOS have enabled the iPhone to use Wi-Fi to synchronize with your Mac. However, if your iPhone is not running a recent version of iOS, or if your Mac and your iPhone are not on the same network, you must physically connect your iPhone to your Mac using the USB cable that came with the iPhone package. You can also connect an iPhone using an optional dock.
