Understanding Categories and Tags
Well-thought-out categories and tags make a convenient way for readers to navigate through your blog. Although you can add them as you go along in your blog, doing a little planning will likely make them more useful.
Categories versus Tags
If you think of your blog as a book, think of categories as chapters and tags as index items. In other words, categories work best for bigger concepts, and tags work best for details. Also, every blog post must be assigned to at least one category, but tags are optional.
