Get to Know the Dashboard
The Dashboard — the main administration panel for your self-hosted, WordPress.org installation — puts links and tools at your fingertips to manage your blog or site. From the Dashboard, you can get a snapshot of the quantity of content on your site and read about WordPress and more.
A new installation of WordPress shows an orientation module above the Dashboard modules. Try it out, or click Dismiss to get rid of the orientation module. You can get it back by clicking Welcome in Screen Options.
Note: Most of the Dashboard’s modules in this section are shown collapsed, meaning only their title bars appear. The default setting has the content expanded, as explained in “Customize and Navigate the Dashboard” in Chapter 4. ...
