A series of simple processes will help SMEs develop effective ways to determine what is needed to create a lesson plan and present the material. Many experienced trainers develop their programs using an Instructional Systems Design (ISD) approach. The ISD approach is a behavior-oriented model that emphasizes the specific skills to be learned and the learners' abilities to demonstrate these skills.
