I’m sure you’ve noticed how frequently I bring up the importance of the Lightroom catalog to your entire workflow, so you won’t be surprised I’m about to do it again: That catalog file is where all the work you do in Lightroom is stored, so you can’t afford to lose it or let it get out of control. Having the best intentions to keep it backed up and optimized is no substitute for actually doing it. So take a break from your photos for a bit and give your catalog itself the attention it deserves.
