Afterword: Crossing borders

The information I’ve shared with you in this book has come from my own personal experience as a design employee, manager, and independent consultant. I’ve worked mostly in the United States, but I’ve also worked in the United Kingdom, lived for a time in France, and traveled widely. For the past few years, I’ve been teaching in a graduate program for advertising, design, and new media. The majority of my students are international — 49 countries so far. Our discussions are very interesting because we get to examine similarities and differences in professional practices around the world. These similarities and differences also come up in my correspondence with readers.
