Get a Better Browser
Microsoft Internet Explorer is notoriously susceptible to malware. Of the many alternative browsers, my new favorite is Apple's own Safari for Windows, available at http://www.apple.com/safari/. Firefox (http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/) also has a reputation for robustness and resistance to everything from viruses to pop-up windows. Other good options include Opera (http://www.opera.com/) and Mozilla (http://www.mozilla.org/download.html).
