Cider
Finally, there's yet another way to get Windows applications to run directly in Mac OS X. Developers of Windows software can add some code (also derived from Wine) and recompile their Windows application so that it becomes a native Mac OS X application. For example, game developers can license a product called Cider from TransGaming Technologies (http://www.transgaming.com/products/cider/), which not only enables the game to run on an Intel-based Mac but does so with a genuine Aqua interface rather than the X11 interface of Wine. However, because this support must be added by the software's developer, it's not a general solution for running Windows software on a Mac.
