My use of the word “hack” refers to changes made by the owner of an iPhone to improve how it works.
I am obviously not referring to illegal security hacks—such as when an unscrupulous user attempts to gain access to another person’s iPhone over a network. Nor am I talking about hardware hacks that require opening the iPhone’s case or making any permanent change to the hardware.
I am talking about software hacks, ones that allow you to add third-party software to your iPhone.
