Deploying the Linux/UNIX Client
Installing the Linux/UNIX agent is a manual process. With ConfigMgr 2012 SP 1 CU 1 and later, you now have a universal agent to replace many of the specific client installation packages. If the version of Linux/UNIX that you are using is not listed as one of the specific download packages in Table 5.2, you can use the universal agent from the ConfigMgr Clients for Linux.exe download. After you have the TAR file and the install script on a network share, copy those files to the local Linux/UNIX machine. The TAR file contains all the client agent files. The Linux/UNIX install does not connect to the MP to download any additional files as do the Windows-based agents.
