Hardware Inventory

Hardware inventory is supported on both the Linux/UNIX and the OS X cross-platform agents. It operates much like the Windows-based agent. The database of hardware information is queried and the results reported back to the MP.

What Is OMI

In the Windows world, hardware inventory is taken from the web-based enterprise management (WBEM) database. In the Linux/UNIX and OS X world, this database of information is called open management infrastructure (OMI).
