Cross-Platform Agent Deployment

Cross-platform agent deployment is different than Windows-based agent deployments. You cannot deploy via an automatic method like client push; the deployment must be done in a manual fashion with the installation scripts and agent files that Microsoft provides. Each agent installation is a bit different, but once the agent is installed it communicates back to the MP in the same manner as the Windows-based agents. As noted earlier in the “Cross-Platform Agent Communication” section, ConfigMgr 2012 SP 1 CU 1 now supports the use of the -fsp install command-line parameter so that the agent can communicate with the fallback status point during installation.
