User Data and Profiles Overview
While roaming profiles, offline files, and folder redirection have been around for a while in Active Directory group policy objects (GPOs), these settings are new to ConfigMgr 2012 SP 1 (and thus, R2), and are handled differently in ConfigMgr. In fact, ConfigMgr only supports Windows 8/Server 2012 and newer systems for management of these settings. This section covers the basics of using the User Data and Profiles feature on these newer platforms.
