Making the Status Message System Work for You

Status messages provide one of the primary means to look at the health of your ConfigMgr infrastructure and identify any problems that might occur. Nearly all ConfigMgr components generate status messages to report various milestones (Table 21.4 lists some examples of milestones) and events. ConfigMgr clients send status messages to their management point or fallback status point, site systems send status messages to the site server, and child sites replicate messages to the CAS. Status messages—as part of site data—are stored on the originating site and replicated to the CAS using SQL replication.
