Objects, Classes, and Attributes

Before starting to build your own queries, you need to understand some of the terminology behind the technology. Queries always consist of

• An object type

• One or more attribute classes

• One or more attributes

These are discussed in the following sections.

Object Type

An object type is a set of attributes representing a ConfigMgr database object. Such objects include applications, deployments, devices, and so on. Table 17.1 lists commonly used object types and their descriptions.
