Creating Queries

ConfigMgr comes with just a handful of queries out-of-the-box that illustrates a small part of the rich amount of data available. Consider them a starting point; you should take time to review these queries to understand all the available query properties.

Using the query builder is a safe way to retrieve data from ConfigMgr. Because the class joins are built automatically behind the scenes, there is less concern of an improper query being resource intensive. (Although this is not entirely mitigated.) The next sections provide insight into WQL, the available object types to query, use of the query builder, and available operators.
