What’s New in 2012

The core functionality of software updates management in System Center 2012 Configuration Manager is largely unchanged from ConfigMgr 2007; however, based on customer feedback, Microsoft has incorporated many improvements to simplify the process, fill in some gaps, and generally improve the update management experience. Here is what the improvements include:

• Superseded update support

• Role-based administration (RBA) integration

• Granular client agent settings

• Simplified workflow for update deployment

• Automated update deployment

• Improved end user experience

• In-console alerts and monitoring

• Content library cleanup
