Deployments

A deployment ties these concepts together. A deployment says to take a specific program within a package and make it available to a collection, and it specifies the distribution point(s) to use when deploying the program. Deployments are either Available (they show as available for the user to install) or Required (can also be made available for the user to install before the deadline, or can be installed silently at deadline time). In System Center 2012 Configuration Manager, deployment is a general term used for deploying multiple types of items, such as packages, applications, software updates, compliance settings, client agent settings, and more.
