Program and Package Properties

One key consideration when developing software packages in ConfigMgr are the options available when creating a package and a program. These options—such as the ability to require another package to install prior to installation, and placing restrictions on the program such as the platforms it installs on—provide increased capabilities when packaging software with ConfigMgr.

To better understand these options, this chapter includes details in the “Creating a Package from the Package Definition Wizard” and “Creating a Package with the New Package Wizard” sections on all available package and program configurations.
