Creating a Package

Because the focus of this chapter is software packaging, the next sections walk through the steps to create a package in ConfigMgr and provide examples of the process.

Packages can come in many flavors:

• Packages that use a definition file.

You can create ConfigMgr packages either with a definition file or without. A definition file provides the answers to the majority of the questions required to create a package.
