Client Approval

ConfigMgr can manage computers not using PKI certificates, but it must first approve these systems. By default, ConfigMgr automatically approves computers belonging to a trusted domain. You can specify that you want to configure each computer manually, or approve all computers automatically. This last option is not recommended because every computer with a ConfigMgr client can assign itself to one of your ConfigMgr sites.

To configure the Client Approval settings, perform the following steps:

1. In the Administration workspace of the console, navigate to Overview -> Site Configuration -> Sites.

2. On the ribbon, select Hierarchy Settings to open the Hierarchy Settings Properties page, displayed in Figure 9.16.
