Group Policy

The ConfigMgr client can be installed using the publish or assign functionality provided by Active Directory:

• When assigning the ConfigMgr client, the software is installed the first time the computer starts.

• When publishing the client, it appears in the Control Panel Programs and Features applet (Add or Remove programs on Windows XP) from where it can be installed.

Because group policy software installation supports only .msi files, you can specify only the CCMSetup.msi file, found in the <ConfigMgrInstallPath>\bin\i386 folder on the site server, without the ability to provide additional parameters. Here are several ways to provide the additional parameters:
