Migrating by Feature and Dependencies
System Center 2012 Configuration Manager presents the built-in migration job wizards by collection or objects. A structured approach to migration is to organize the process by infrastructure-only objects such as boundaries and then by the features linked to collections.
The first migration configuration required is data gathering from the active source hierarchy. The active source hierarchy is typically the top site of your ConfigMgr 2007 hierarchy.
