Client Protocols

The ConfigMgr client uses the HTTP or HTTPS protocol to communicate with several site systems, including the management point and the software update point. These two roles are among the systems having the highest volume and frequency of communication with ConfigMgr clients. Clients communicate with the management point more frequently than with any of the other ConfigMgr site systems.

• Client systems poll the management point regularly for policy updates. The default polling interval is every hour.
