Intermittently Connected Users
Users who do not connect to the enterprise network or who connect only occasionally present a special configuration management challenge, which ConfigMgr addresses through use of BITS. If a client’s network connection to its distribution point drops while a download is in progress, the download could resume the next time the client establishes a connection to that distribution point. This allows effective software distribution services to users such as home office users who intermittently establish a VPN connection to the corporate network.
