Software and Application Installation Logs

A common task is troubleshooting actual installations of software and applications delivered using ConfigMgr. This task is technically outside the scope of ConfigMgr, which just runs the command-line you give it. What happens after that is up to the command-line but still well within the circle of responsibility of most ConfigMgr admins.

Just as with ConfigMgr, getting a log file for the installation can greatly help in figuring out what’s broken or what went wrong.
