In February 1993 I was in Houston to present the 1992 Global Scenarios to the management team of Shell Oil Company. I thought of the meeting in Houston, years before, where I had made the brief comments to Norman Duncan that eventually led to my becoming the leader of the scenario team. Now, having presented the scenarios, I walked over to the Hyatt Regency Hotel to hear an address John Gardner was giving to the Forum Club of Houston.
