What Does Sustainable Mean?

In the world of business, “sustainable” is frequently used to describe the process of conducting business in ways that protect Earth and its ­inhabitants from irreparable damage caused by human activities. The irreparable damage to the environment has direct economic and social ­consequences for the present and future generations. Over the last ­century, people have used much of Earth’s resources with little regard for their use by future generations.
