The JOBDUR Data Set: Durations of Jobs
The JOBDUR data set consists of 100 simulated observations of jobs and job holders. Results of analyzing these data were reported in Output 5.9 and 5.10. The variables are as follows:
DUR | is the length of the job in years (integer values only). |
EVENT | 1 = quit; 2 = fired; 0 = censored. |
ED | is the number of years of completed schooling. |
PRESTIGE | is a measure of the prestige of the job. |
SALARY | is salary in thousands of dollars. |
For the analyses in Chapter 5, firings were treated as censoring.
