THREE APPROACHES TO PROBLEM SOLVING

As a supervisor, you will find that each day a constant variety of large and small problems will come to you from all directions. You can use one of the following three approaches in dealing with them:

  1. You can stall or delay action through any number of often-used ploys. For example, you can bury the problem in red tape, shuffle it in a circle until it disappears, overconsult with your boss until he tells you to forget it, or simply procrastinate until (you hope) a decision is no longer necessary.
