SOFTWARE PACKAGES TO HELP SUPERVISORS

To illustrate how the supervisor of the future can make maximum use of the computer, all we need do is review the basic software packages currently available.

Word Processing: Word processing allows a busy supervisor to be his or her own secretary. For example, a bulletin may need to be written (with graphics), edited, and posted in a hurry. No problem with a word processor.

Spreadsheets: This software allows the supervisor to turn the computer's memory into a large worksheet in which data formulas can be tested. For example, a supervisor might want to discover what hiring a new employee might do to profitability. A few moments on the computer and the answer is on the screen.
