APPRAISALS AND MBO

An important relationship links formal appraisals with management by objectives (MBO) philosophies. For example, your superior (evaluating you as a supervisor) might tie your appraisal to the success you have had in reaching the objectives you submitted at an earlier time. If you have made excellent progress toward the goals approved earlier, chances are good that you will receive a positive report. Other factors that may be considered include human relations skills, dependability, and the ability to handle problem employees.
