High availability of business applications is important to guarantee expected service levels to external and internal customers and prevent losses in productivity, business, and market share. The SC2.2 data services, or HA-agents, manage business applications to provide highly available services. This chapter introduced qualification requirements for making existing applications highly available, see section, “Qualifying a Highly Available Application”. The elements involved in an application failover using the SC2.2 data services architecture were explained in detail.
