Developing HA-Agents
As discussed previously, the development of an HA-agent for an application involves the creation of DSMs (and their registration with the SC2.2 infrastructure) to automatically start, stop, and monitor a highly available application. The following sections discuss some of tools provided with the SC2.2 software which can be useful for developing a DSM. Appendix B contains shell script templates with sample code for all supported DSMs. These templates can be used to reinforce the concepts presented in this chapter, and to simplify the development of an HA-agent.
