Highly Available Data Services
The SC2.2 software was developed to enhance data and application availability for business-critical or mission-critical environments. The basic SC2.2 premise is to connect two or more servers by means of a private network, and have all servers access the same application data using multi-ported disk storage. Because each cluster node is allocated the same network resources and disk data, it is capable of inheriting an application after its primary server is unable to provide services.

Cluster nodes are not restricted to symmetric configurations.
