Shared CCD

Problems with having a CCD quorum and inconsistent CCDs can be largely overcome in two-node clusters by using a shared CCD. A shared CCD enables two nodes to share a consistent CCD source, even if one of them is unavailable.

Note

Because the CCD is updated during the data service package installation, if a shared CCD is configured, there may be an error if the CCD is updated while the shared CCD volume is in use (when one or more nodes is out of the cluster). This situation can be resolved by disabling the shared CCD before installing the package. If a cluster environment will require adding many new data services after it is put in production, a shared CCD may not make sense.
