Case 1: Node Failure

Figure 2-12 depicts a four-node N+1 cluster configuration where node D can access all shared storage. However, for failure fencing to work, multiple quorum devices are required. In this example, Q1, Q2 and Q3 are quorum devices configured between respective nodes. For example, nodes A and D can access array 1. Quorum device Q1 is configured between the two nodes; likewise for quorum devices Q2 and Q3. In the example, node D fails (in this example there are no other problems).
