Single System Availability Tuning

This section discusses the key factors involved in configuring a single system to match availability requirements. The most important considerations before configuring a system for high availability are to fully understand the application RAS requirements and select the appropriate computing platform, see section, “System Types—Availability Requirements”.” Availability tuning is similar to performance tuning, and is essentially a process whereby areas that contribute the most to system outages are identified and minimized (or eliminated) to improve overall system availability.
