Chapter 13. Developing Cluster-Aware Applications

Beginning with Sun Cluster 3.1, a new useful API that is available to developers is the cluster reconfiguration notification protocol (CRNP). This API gives developers the functionality and the tools to create applications that are cluster aware. The CRNP functionality enables applications and clients to be notified when specific cluster events occur, that is, cluster membership change. When an event occurs, the application or client can act on those changes immediately. The CRNP is a new protocol within the Sun Cluster framework and it will continue to evolve along with changes and new functionality.
