Java is a hot topic in the computer industry today. It has quickly become ubiquitous and its multiplatform portability is extremely valuable to anyone who has to deal with many types of computer system. Java has now spawned a new class of desktop client system known as a Network Computer or NC. Most NCs have to find ways to access preexisting applications, but a whole new class of “100% Pure Java™” applications are being developed to run on NCs and on any other Java-enabled system.
