TEAM NORMS: A TEAM BUILDING ACTIVITY |
Purpose: To help a team develop their team norms.
Materials Needed: Provide each member of the team with a copy of the Sample Team Norms.
Process:
1. Explain the purpose of the exercise. Provide an overview of norms and how they contribute to team effectiveness. Explain that norms tell team members what is expected of them in terms of their behavior on the team. In addition, norms serve as feedback for a team member when his or her behavior becomes a problem.
2. Distribute a copy of the Sample Team Norms. You may choose to e-mail the list to team members prior to the meeting.
3. Ask the team to read the list and do two things: (1) edit or delete any norm on the list, and (2) add other norms ...
