THE IMPORTANCE OF PARTICIPATIVE MANAGEMENT

Participation in an organization means that people who are affected by or involved in a decision have a voice in making it. The decisions they make may involve problem solving, work scheduling, task assignment, training, or any number of issues that relate to the effectiveness of their operation. People participate in setting goals and in evaluating one another’s performance. They may even decide how rewards are distributed. Whatever the decision, the underlying reality is that employees share leadership with their bosses.
