Business and information technology (IT) professionals can become equally exasperated with one another as they are often such opposites. However, the degree to which the business and IT can partner together is the single most important organizational aspect to successful business intelligence (see Chapter 6, Figure 6-1). According to the successful BI survey, 55% identified the business-IT partnership as essential for success, followed closely by executive level support (53%).
