2.3. Microsoft CRM 3.0—Feature Parity Among the Competition

With Microsoft's CRM 3.0 release the functional areas of the application were extended to a degree where feature parity was reached amongst the major CRM vendors. One of the key limitations was eliminated through the introduction of extended relationship capabilities, and many other significant application improvements were introduced to compete on equal footing with the major competitors.

2.3.1. Relationships

The new relationships functionality introduced in 3.0 extended the application's capabilities by enabling complex relationship management. The new function introduced the capability to create many-to-many relationships among companies, individuals, and sales opportunities.
