Assigning a Product Maturity Score

During the assessment process of each item, the group doing the assessment should document its findings on the product maturity checklist. A written record of everyone's perception of the quality of each item enables the group to quickly work together to assign the item's final score.

I recommend that each participant assign a score before any group discussion of the item. This ensures an honest rating unaffected by group dynamics. After each person has assigned his or her score, a list of the scores should be put together and distributed.
