Part II. Subclassing and Superclassing

In this section, we’ll explore techniques for subclassing windows, dialog boxes, and ActiveX controls. In addition, we’ll explore the related technique of superclassing. Finally, because subclassed and superclassed applications are often unstable because of the developer’s failure (for whatever reason) to follow all the rules of subclassing and superclassing, we’ll examine techniques for debugging an application and detecting what is causing the application to behave in unintended ways.
