Multi-camera live transmissions are planned and rehearsed on the basic requirement of providing continuous camera coverage of an event. Breaks from the main production location may include pre-recorded inserts or other non ‘live’ material. For example, a general election results programme that is anchored and presented in a studio will have provision for studio and location interviews and the display of results plus OB coverage of local announcement of results combined with regional opt-outs to update on local situations. The whole package will be planned to sustain a continuous transmission of many hours.
