Computer viruses

The threat of computer viruses is very real. A virus may corrupt or delete data from your computer, use your e-mail program to spread the virus to other computers, or even erase everything on your hard disk.

The main worry of viruses comes from attachments. It is very dangerous to download e-mail attachments without taking proper precautions. Therefore when you receive a message with an attached file, do not download the attachment unless you know the sender and you are sure that what is being sent is legitimate, and also that you have anti-virus software installed on your machine.
