Now that we have some ideas of what this SILLY thing is to do, let’s concentrate on working out the construction details.

Obviously, one of the major concerns is the user interface. The attached picture of the keyboard layout (Figure C.KB) contains some notes about specific key functions, display formats, etc., which should be useful although not necessarily complete. The keyboard, by the way, is on a five-by-six grid (five output lines and six input lines).
