In this chapter, we give you a complete but brief look at everything to be described in the rest of the book. This serves two purposes: Readers who simply want a general idea of what the methods are about will get it by reading just this chapter, while those who intend to delve deeper will get a good overview of what is to come. We deliberately introduce concepts and diagrams here without complete explanations; the diagrams and other constructs used in these methods are designed to be intuitively meaningful and we would like you to use your intuition to understand them before getting into the detailed whys and wherefores.
